Privacy Policy
Effective date: 6.22.2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how ARfi collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use ARfi, including the website, app, playtest, artist tools, and related services.
ARfi is built around location-based music discovery, so some features may require location data, account data, device data, and music interaction data.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use ARfi, we may collect:
- Account information, such as email address, username, sign-in provider, and account identifiers.
- Location information, such as approximate or precise location, when needed for AR music discovery, placement, collection, and nearby experiences.
- Music interaction data, such as collected tracks, placed tracks, listening actions, inventory actions, artist interactions, and in-app progress.
- Device and technical data, such as device model, operating system, app version, crash logs, diagnostics, IP address, and basic usage events.
- Artist-submitted information, such as artist name, music metadata, artwork, links, release details, and submitted content.
- Support communications, such as messages you send us, bug reports, feedback, or playtest responses.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Operate ARfi and provide location-based music discovery.
- Show nearby music, placed music, collected music, and artist experiences.
- Manage accounts, login, security, inventory, progress, and app features.
- Support artists and process artist submissions.
- Debug crashes, fix bugs, improve performance, and test new features.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, cheating, unsafe use, and violations of our Terms.
- Communicate with users about updates, testing, support, and important notices.
4. Location Data
ARfi may use location data to make the core experience work. For example, location may be used to show music around you, place music in a real-world area, confirm whether you are near a collectible item, or improve location-based gameplay.
You can limit or disable location permissions through your device settings, but some ARfi features may stop working correctly.
ARfi does not sell your precise location data.
5. Sharing Information
We may share information with:
- Service providers that help operate ARfi, such as hosting, authentication, analytics, databases, storage, crash reporting, and security tools.
- App platforms, such as Apple or Google, when required for app distribution, payments, analytics, or crash reporting.
- Artists or users, when a feature is designed to show public or shared information, such as artist names, placed music, public music metadata, or shared experiences.
- Legal or safety parties, if required to comply with law, enforce terms, protect rights, investigate abuse, or respond to valid legal requests.
- Business transfer parties, if ARfi is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or sale of assets.
6. Public Features
Some ARfi features may be public or visible to other users, such as placed music, artist profiles, artist-submitted content, usernames, or public music interactions.
Do not submit information you do not want others to see if the feature is public or shared.
7. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to operate ARfi, provide services, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and improve the product.
Test data may be deleted, reset, or modified during closed testing or early access.
8. Your Choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain uses of your personal information.
You can also manage permissions such as location, notifications, camera, and photos through your device settings.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No system is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
ARfi is not intended for children under 13, or under the minimum digital consent age in your region. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
11. International Use
ARfi may be operated from different countries and may use service providers in different countries. Your information may be processed outside your country of residence.
